National EMS Week (2024)

County Executive David Morgan signed a proclamation alongside Lawrence County EMS Director Michelle Ayers, Assistant Director Kane Watkins, and other EMS staff members, proclaiming the week of May 19–25, 2024, as Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week in Lawrence County, Tennessee!

Emergency medical services are a vital public service. Our EMS teams are ready to provide lifesaving care 24/7. Access to quality emergency care greatly improves survival and recovery rates.

The EMS system includes first responders, EMTs, paramedics, dispatchers, firefighters, police officers, educators, administrators, nurses, physicians, and trained members of the public. These dedicated professionals engage in thousands of hours of training and continuing education to enhance their lifesaving skills.

We recognize and celebrate the extraordinary value and accomplishments of our emergency medical services providers. Let’s take this week to honor their dedication and hard work that keeps our community safe and healthy.
