On August 15, 2024, key officials gathered for a site visit in Loretto, where Lawrence County will soon build its first convenience center. This new facility, made possible with the help of grant funding from the State of Tennessee, will accept household garbage, recyclables, and other items.

The City of Loretto is donating 2 acres of land near its wastewater management site for the project. Present at the visit were County Executive David Morgan, Loretto City Mayor Steve McMasters, County Commissioner Dave Ray, Highway Superintendent Ryan Krick, representatives from TDEC, Solid Waste Director Gary Wayne Hyde, and Solid Waste Assistant Director Zac Fralix.

This development marks a significant opportunity for the southern region of Lawrence County. Stay tuned for updates on the progress of this project.
