Yesterday, the Lawrence County Commission held a Special Session with several important items on the agenda. All resolutions passed unanimously, including:

Commissioners recognized and congratulated the Lawrence County Cal Ripken League 10U All-Stars, who brought home their fourth straight Tennessee State Championship. These young athletes, along with their coaches and parents, continue to make Lawrence County proud through their hard work, dedication, and success on the field.

A resolution was approved declaring the service weapon of Lieutenant Anthony Washburn surplus and awarding it to him in recognition of his 33 years of honorable service with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department. Lt. Washburn retired on July 31, 2025, after a career marked by strong and faithful service to our community.

The Commission also approved a contract with Combined Public Communications, LLC to provide video visitation and inmate communication services at the Lawrence County Jail, ensuring updated and reliable services for the facility.
