Commissioner Wayne Yocom is currently serving his eighth term as County Commission representing the 1st District.
Yocum is retired from the State of Tennessee where he worked for over 30 years for the Department of Transportation. Prior to his retirement, he attained the position of District Highway Maintenance Superintendent for the 36th District.
During his time on the county commission, Yocom has served on various committees including several stints on the county’s budget committee. He also served several years as the Chairman Pro-Tempore of the county commission.
In 2024-25, Yocom is Chair of the Highway Committee, Vice-Chair of the Solid Waste Committee.
Commissioner Yocom is dedicated to improving Lawrence County by responsibly addressing important issues such as our county’s schools, roads, and economic development.
