Ray Brazier

District 13

Ray Brazier is representing the 13th District for the third time. He was appointed to the Commission in 2005 following the death of his father, Olan, then was elected to a four-year term in 2006, and again in 2026.

He is a 1969 graduate of LCHS and has lived on the family farm in the Piney Community most of his life. The Braziers were dairy farmers for many years; today Ray oversees the farm, which is rented out for row cropping and a cattle operation.

Ray competed in motocross racing for 20 years, then drove modified bass boats in maritime endurance races that ranged from 200 to 550 miles. He left his job at Graphic Packaging in the early 1990s to become a professional tournament fisherman.

He was co-host of the Emmy-winning “Fishing University” from 1986 to 2022, which continues to air new shows on the Outdoor Channel, Sports South, and other networks. The format pitted Ray in a friendly fishing contest against host Charlie Ingram at destinations across North America. Ray also provided a boat “tech tip” on each weekly episode.

“Serving as Commissioner for this community is a true honor and a responsibility I take seriously. As I carry out my duties, I pray for guidance and the community’s support. My goal is to honor God, my family, the citizens of the 13th District, and Lawrence County, Tennessee.”

Ray’s wife Roberta has also played an active role in local government, serving as a longtime member of the Lawrence County School Board.
