The Lawrence County Board of Commissioners met for regular session on Tuesday, September 22, handling key appointments, honoring local student-athletes, and approving all business items on the agenda.
LEADERSHIP ELECTIONS
Following the call to order, County Executive David Morgan was initially nominated and voted in as Commission Chairman. In a show of unity and collaboration, Executive Morgan chose to yield the position, advocating instead for Commissioner Scott Franks to lead the commission as Chairman. The Commission voted unanimously in favor. Commissioner Rick Skillington was also elected to serve as Chair Pro-Tempore.

KEY HIGHLIGHTS
Reappointed Ryan Durham as the County Attorney. Res. 20260922-03: Approved the closure of Hollman Road and its removal from the official Lawrence County Road List. Res. 20260922-04: Approved an Omnibus First Amendment to PILOT documents, ad valorem tax agreement, and lease agreement between the City of Lawrenceburg IDB and F9 Properties, LLC. Res. 20260922-05: Authorized the collection of an electronic filing fee for documents recorded with the Register of Deeds to support electronic recording systems and operations. Res. 20260922-06: Approved the settlement of the county’s interest in the Estate of Jo Elaine Tidwell for the direct benefit of the Lawrence County Animal Shelter.
Res. 20260922-07: Authorized Lawrence County EMS to provide dedicated event stand-by services, establishing the fee structure, employee compensation, and standard operating procedures. Res. 20260922-08: Confirmed the appointment of J.D. Bosheers to the Board of Directors of the Lawrence County Senior Citizens Club, Inc. Res. 20260922-09: Approved the official addition of Riverview Lane, Lakeside Lane, Bear Drive, and Bear Lane to the Lawrence County Road List.
