Roy Dale Hagan is a native of Lawrence County and has lived in the Fall River Road Crossroads area – District 4 – his entire life.
He is a graduate of Lawrence County High School and graduated Pulaski Vocational-Technical School with Tool & Die and Machining certification. He also completed several Columbia State classes during his 28-year career at Murray. Following Murray’s closure, he was Plant Manager at Delta Steel & Tube in Florence, Alabama.
Although officially retired, he works his family farm and has 250 head of cattle. He and his wife Connie and two part-time employees also build and sell wooden caskets.
Roy’s son Steve Hagan and his wife Alice are both nurse practitioners. Alice is employed at Fast Pace; Steve with Air Evac and STRHS-Pulaski. Roy also has four grandchildren.
He is a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church, a fourth-generation Mason, and a Shriner. He helped organize Crossroads Volunteer Fire Department and served as Chief for its first ten years. He currently serves as the department’s Treasurer and is co-chair of its Board of Trustees.
Semi-retirement has given Roy time to serve as a County Commissioner. “I really wanted to help the community,” he says. Roy serves on the Animal Welfare, Technology, Grievance, Emergency Services, and Workplace Safety committees.
